BruiserBiomorph [Genotype, Ideal PArahuman]Among genotypes, Bruisers are known to be one of the strongest and one of the toughest. However, they lack the grace and good looks some common among humanity anymore, which, in some ways, makes them popular among eccentric crowds that seek to buck standards and question beauty standards and the authority that reinforces those standards. As a genotype, it's been around since the Interplanetary period, where it existed as an android type that was incorporated into the human genetic family. Despite their advanced age and the fact that the genotype is relatively well understood, they are not a common genotype.
Bruisers stand anywhere from 7' to 9' tall, pushing the limits of what humans are capable of enduring, with the average height around 8' tall; the +1 SM represents the space they fill up as well as their height. To make this height possible, designers had to rethink the human bone structure, and so reinforced the bones, making them tougher and more durable. Meanwhile, the muscles were adjusted in mass and efficiency so they could be as strong and flexible but lacked the overall mass; for this reason, Bruisers tend to weigh less than they look (which isn't saying much, since they still routinely weight over 300lbs). They also have a redesigned heart, which is better at circulating blood through their enormous bodies, and a more efficient nervous system, designed for their large height. Lately, designers gave them impressive sexual characteristics, perhaps to try and make up for the lack of looks. These exaggerated sexual characteristics are a reason why they remain popular in some quarters. Because of the innate danger that Bruisers pose - they are capable of killing adult humans with a single punch - they are often forced to register when they enter a habitat. Understandably, many grow up to be pit fighters, making a name for themselves wrecking cybershells. However, this isn't necessary a destiny for them all, with many finding work in law enforcement and other related careers. Intersting Facts

Bruiser Variants and Family
The Bruiser isn't a very popular genotype for parents, but it is a popular genotype for producing androids and pods; with the high degree of strength and the exaggerated characteristics, it is certainly a genotype that captures attention. As a result, it has a small family and a small number of variants, but many of them are actually very well known throughout the Verge and Bleed for their unusual nature.
Android Bruiser (+26 points)
Cybercore Bruiser (+45 points): Pod Bruiser (+28 points): |
A more common android version that is often used for dumb labor where cybershells aren't common or are socially frowned upon; they also sometimes appear in sports, as well, especially mixed martial arts and wrestling. Add Android Body [-4] and Basic Biomods [30]. 114 points.
A more rare bioshell variant that isn't as common as the pod version, which is easier to alter. Add Bioshell Body [9], Basic Biomods [30], and Cortical Stack [6]. 163 points. The Pod variant is far and away the most common version of the Bruiser, both because it's easier to repair and fix but also because they're quicker to alter as well. Add Pod Body [-4], Basic Biomods [30], Basic Mesh Inserts [26], Cortical Stack [6], and Social Stigma (Pod) [-10]. 146 points. |
Luchador [Pod] |
82 points |
There are a number of odd sports in the Verge and Bleed, and low-gravity wrestling is one of them. The Luchador-series of pods are a series of pods by different manufacturers created to capitalize on the low-gravity environments; these freakishly huge pods stand between 15 and 20 feet tall, and are often capable of throwing their opponents incredibly distances during their low gravity wrestling matches. The basic template below can represent any generic model; they are often piloted by AGIs or LAIs who are trained in flamboyant wrestling and boxing styles.

Bigger Daddy (+28 Points): The Bigger Daddy is designed for MMA exclusively and hits like a dinosaur-killing asteroid; these pods are impressively strong and capable of throwing one another great distances. Increase SM to SM +3 , reflecting bulk more than height, increase ST to ST +15 [+25], Lifting ST +5 (Size, -30%) [+1], and Striking ST +5 (Size, -30%) [+2]. $340,000 + computer. LC3. 110 points.
Caryatid (+5 Points): Caryatids are a female-only pod that are beautiful and engage in wrestling matches, often naked. AGIs that pilot these pods often have specially designed cybercores that are identical to their pods to move around in higher gravity with, usually using the Tiqao as a basis. Beautiful as they are, their punch is still capable of crippling an adult human. Add Appearance (Very Beautiful; Off-the-Shelf looks, -50%; Humans Only, -20%) [5]. $340,000 + computer. Kaiju: Kaiju derive their name from the Japanese movie genre of men dressed as monsters stomping around on a soundstage full of village models while pyrotechnics go off around them. Kaiju generally look like giant animals, but however they look, there are three basic models: the Kong, the Gojira, and the Ghidorah. The Kong adds Brachiator [5], Extra Limbs 2 (Foot Manipulators, -30%; Short, -50%) [4], Fur [1], and Penetrating Voice [1] for a total of +10 points (92 points). The Ghidorah adds Catfall (Parachute, -20%) [8], Extra Head 2 [30], No Manipulators [-50]; and Teeth (Fangs) [1] for a total of +29 points (111 points).

Tiaoqi [Android] |
102 points |
Not all security/bodyguard androids have to be stylish fashion accessories who can double as courtesans. Some more pragmatic customers, including quite a few successful Triad and Tong bosses, just wants squads of reliable and strong goons who do what they're told, handle weapon of all types, and the Tiaoqi are the design that meets that. These variants of the Bruiser are solidly built androids that stand around 9 feet tall, usually with little head hair, and a faint small. They are made unimaginative and sexless, precluding many commonplace subversion methods. Their standard conditioning gives them no sense of other's pain but they like to make their "masters" happy and gain an almost ecstatic pleasure from obedience to authority. The only problem is that the conditioning makes them so loyal that they are hard to reassign once they have been given a new owner, but few owners worry about this.
They have a variety of minor features that make them good soldiers, which enhances them further, even though they are slightly weaker than the average Bruiser. They need leadership, though; teams of Tiaoqi teams are usually coordinated by networked specialist AI systems, which provide them with tactical ingenuity they require.
